Theyre ok. I saw them for the first time last week. I was generally underwhelmed until it came to the longer instrumental sections of their music. The lead singer looked like he was on heroin and in a daze. I left before the end of the show.. but in their defense, my tickets were free.
I thought that also, Turts. I didn't really care for TTB but then I saw them live and they are stellar. You should go check it out if prices aren't crazy expensive.
Well, I will be seeing them for the first time opening for TTB on Nov. 3. I will let you know how they sound.<<<
Thanks. I am considering going to the Ventura show on November 8th. It might work out for me to get to sneak in a show the night before a conference I have to attend the following day for work in Pasadena. It's just a bit of a haul to get to Ventura (vs. Pasadena) from the Phoenix area where I'll be driving in from, so not sure if it's worth the energy / effort.
I used to hang out there some 20 or 30 years ago. Cool little place. Go see Edge Of The West if not TTB.
Todd Snider is a very good song writer. I used to go on mini tours with him, but last few times has not been up to snuff. He needs new material at the level of his old stuff. His old stories are/were very entertaining. Looking forward to seeing him next weekend at Hangtown.
HWA is a competent band but mostly hinges on Todd.

Todd Snider can be a real hit or miss sometimes. I've seen him a lot and generally love his performances but he has his moments.
