The actual Brady Kid actors were a bunch of smartass Hollywood ne'er-do-wells. One time they stole the Partridge Family bus off the lot and went Joy-riding.
I think the story is when the cops eventually caught up, they all got off with a warning.
But there was apparently some Partridge - Brady rivalry going on.
I don't see him often but we are old friends who caught a bunch of shows together - in Oakland and SLC.
Way back around 2000 I played a party in the Oakland hills and Mike got on stage and sang Scarlet Begonias with my band!
I used to live in a Penthouse Apartment on Lake Merit in Oakland (within walking distance to the Kaiser) and was handed the lease to the place by a guy who was Bobby's Room Mate at Utah State.
We would have regular party activities each end of the year to coincide with NYE Runs and Mike would regularly come by to puff and drink.
Most of the people at the party had no idea who he was since he had blond hair and a blond mustache (for real - and his hair was dyed black when he was a kid actor.)
I also partied with Mike at the Delta Center in SLC for the Utah shows in '94 and '95.
Last time I saw him was at a DSO show at GAMH in SF.
I enjoy vid-capping bands locally and sharing the results on Youtube.
At this particular show on 4/18/15 I was capping a great Scarlet > Fire and during the transition and throughout a lot of the Fire Jams you can hear one guy whistling and yelling behind me - all the while he was slyly nudging my elbow and trying to get me to fuck up. I was hot under the collar and wanted to turn and crack the dude in the fuckin' jaw - but I held firm and kept shooting vid. Somehow I got through it and when the song concluded I turned to confront the asshole and it was Mike - totally prankin' me and trying to piss me off.
