I havent had the ability to travel over the last few year like I do now. I thought "Hey, Ill get some Phish tix for NYE and go up to NYC." WRONG!!! I totally forgot how bad ticketbastard and their monopoly is.. Cant believe I forgot. I fucking hate our government has allowed those fuckers to ruin the concert experience for so many people. I guesss it was a pipe dream anyway.

It's a personal insult to all
It's a personal insult to all good Americans that tickets to a Phish NYE show aren't readily available whenever any of us want some. Tickets to shows should be as easy to get as crackers at Safeway.
It's just shocking that Ticketmaster allowed the shows to sell out before ned could get his. Bastards.
I can't remember if people have always hatefully blamed ticketing companies when they haven't been able to get into any/every show they want, but these days it's like a default reaction.
All the thousands of people who couldn't get one of the few hundred tickets to today's Phil/Bobby TxR show went ballistic because the small ticketing company the small venue uses couldn't handle all the instant hits. FUCK THEM!!!!!!
When people can't get tickets on TM it's FUCK THEM!!!!!! THEY SELL ALL THE TICKETS TO SCALPERS!!!!!!! ((They don't BTW, because they can't. They just sell the tickets, they don't control them).
It's harder and harder to get tickets to popular events these days because of all the band & venue clubs, venue, band & promoter VIP packages, high powered scalper computer systems and of course the fact that everyone in the known universe has instant access to what tickets are available...
But if we have our shit together it's still possible to get tickets to most any event, especially if we accept personal responsibility and don't expect everyone else to take care of us and then blame them when they don't.
Apologies for the lack of empathy and the snarky, critical response, but that lament is getting really tired.

Go fuck yourself.. You know
Go fuck yourself.. You know full well these companies allow most of the good seats to head to the secondary market. They never bring on additional server capacity to handle the increased traffic. The whole thing is a shit show by design. My bitch is justified as evidence by lawsuits brought in recent years by states attournery generals. If you would take your mouth off their cock for five seconds and do a google search you could see the truth as well... dickweed.

I still feel it's relatively
I still feel it's relatively easy to get into any medium to larger show for face value even if it's sold out.
remember when I was pishawing a bunch of folks on here for being concerned about being able to get into ween at the Masonic in SF for those midweek shows that just happened?
pretty sure tickets were available for that up until the day of.
did anyone even go?
didn't see any reviews.
maybe I'm just lucky and/or good this.

I've made friends with some folks over at Ticketmaster/Live Nation; they have done a knock out job fro me this year and are forever grateful.

The good thing is is that you
The good thing is is that you can now go to stubhub, pick where you want to sit as opposed to being dealt some random bad spot through PTBM or TM, pay a little extra and you’re all set! Much better than buying a fake one from someone on the street the night of the show.
Maybe someone needs to “disrupt” the ticket selling industry much like our taxi, hotel and razor blade industries have been disrupted. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..................................................

Someone already did they are called Ovation Tickets, started here in NY. Where there software lets you become - Ticketmaster.
50%t of the shows you read about that I am going to, or went to are on behalf of Ovation.
Where do you live Bucky?

I highly recommend the book Ticketmasters. Full history and background on the ticketing industry and plenty of GD content. I paid $15 on $40 ticket this morning for a concert tonight dammit

Thanks Bucky.
Thanks Bucky.
That was the problem with the other board. Forgive me some folks were talking in some kind of cryptic lingo, with nonsensical acronyms, I had no idea what they were trying to say.
Some were even trying to promote shows and cruises or something.

I was set to go to both Ween
I was set to go to both Ween shows, but my mom passed away the day before so I didn't go to either because I was otherwise occupied, both physically and emotionally.
But I had no troubles at all getting tickets.
But then I'm a dickweed, so there's that.
