puerto ricans just want everything done for them

Unequivocally a shit head, a calculating fuckwad.

As has been noted (by lady Gaga, among others), Trump needs no electoral votes from Puerto Rico for reelection, while Texas and Florida are both very important to his reelection.

People are dying who could be saved if the U.S.A. contributed goods, services and money to their needs.

Oh yeah, and they're brown, speak Spanish and in his mind, must be like Mexicans...

Out of everything douchebaggy he has done so far, this may be the worst. It's the lives of a few million US citizens, not dick swinging with Kim, showing his prejudice colors or getting in Tweet Wars over inane shit.

So, he wasn't "presidential" after Charlottesville. Whatever, of course he wasn't.  It this is a time to really step to the plate. A couple of million people need the immediate support, if only psychological, of their Executive, and he's just being a dick.

People in the northeast are very racist toward Puerto Rican's

They need water. WATER! We can and should help with the most basic of needs and services. I could start frothing pretty soon.

Retired Lieutenant General: While Trump Golfs, San Juan’s Mayor Is ‘Living On A Cot’

“I hope the president has a good day at golf,” he said.

The retired lieutenant general who led the effort to bring aid to Louisiana after it was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina didn’t mince words when talking about the president’s response to the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico.

On Saturday morning, President Donald Trump unleashed a series of tweets taking aim at San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz. In them, he accused Democrats of having convinced Cruz to be “nasty” to him, called Cruz’s leadership “poor” and said that other leaders in Puerto Rico “want everything to be done for them.” The tweets were sent from his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey.

In an interview with CNN later in the day, retired Lt. General Russel L. Honoré tore down Trump’s remarks:

“The mayor’s living on a cot, and I hope the president has a good day at golf,” he told CNN...........

U.S. response in Puerto Rico pales next to actions after Haiti quake

After an earthquake shattered Haiti's capital on Jan. 12, 2010, the U.S. military mobilized as if it were going to war.

Before dawn the next morning, an Army unit was airborne, on its way to seize control of the main airport in Port-au-Prince. Within two days, the Pentagon had 8,000 American troops en route. Within two weeks, 33 U.S. military ships and 22,000 troops had arrived. More than 300 military helicopters buzzed overhead, delivering millions of pounds of food and water.

No two disasters are alike. Each delivers customized violence that cannot be fully anticipated. But as criticism of the federal government's initial response to the crisis in Puerto Rico continued to mount Thursday, the mission to Haiti — an island nation several hundred miles from the U.S. mainland — stands as an example of how quickly relief efforts can be mobilized.

By contrast, eight days after Hurricane Maria ripped across neighboring Puerto Rico, just 4,400 service members were participating in federal operations to assist the devastated island, an Army general told reporters Thursday. In addition, about 1,000 Coast Guard members were aiding the efforts. About 40 U.S. military helicopters were helping to deliver food and water to the 3.4 million residents of the U.S. territory, along with 10 Coast Guard helicopters

Because a Democratic mayor that supported and praised an FALN terrorist is someone whose opinion really counts when it comes to Donald Trump....

San Juan Mayor Praised Convicted FALN Terrorist

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz is a member of Puerto Rico’s Popular Democratic Party that wants the island to remain a U.S. territory. But she sounded more like a member of the island’s Independence Party in a video that surfaced back in January when President Barack Obama commuted the sentence of Rivera Lopez.

Hello, San Juan. Freedom for Oscar Lopez Rivera.. soon he will be with us. We have to thank every Puerto Rican man and woman, who for a long time, many of us didn’t know Oscar Lopez Rivera. He was fighting the fight,” she said.

Lopez Rivera was sentenced to 35 years in prison for his involvement in the FALN, a Puerto Rican separatist group that was responsible for more than 100 bombings in the U.S. during the 1970s and 1980s.

Four people lost their lives in 1975 when an explosion happened at Fraunces Tavern in New York City, an attack the FALN was responsible for. The organization was also responsible for seriously injuring three NYPD officers in several bomb attacks on New Year’s Eve in 1982.

But she hates Donald Tump so that's okay.

We're doing a great job of getting the supplies there, but local truck drivers aren't showing up....

“It’s a lack of drivers for the transport trucks, the 18 wheelers. Supplies we have. Trucks we have. There are ships full of supplies, backed up in the ports, waiting to have a vehicle to unload into. However, only 20% of the truck drivers show up to work. These are private citizens in Puerto Rico, paid by companies that are contracted by the government”.

And because you are a relentless apologist for Trump, your opinion is meaningless.

Thom, I know how you like to deflect, so....

What about the Obama administration's handling Haiti compared to Trump's handling of Puerto Rico?

i got this one:

"Proof Obama hates America.  He cares more about foreigners than US citizens."

that was easy.

>that was easy...

And idiotic.

It's as if you channeled Thom.

Well done, Trebor.

Neighboring mayor praises Trump, says San Juan mayor playing 'politics,' AWOL at meetings

The mayor of a Puerto Rican city that sits next to San Juan praised the administration's help Saturday night, and chided the "politics" of San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, who has been criticizing President Trump.

In an interview with Secrets, Guaynabo Mayor Angel Perez Otero said that in several meetings with FEMA and U.S. military officials about the recovery effort, Yulin Cruz has been absent. "I've seen other mayors participating. She's not," said Perez Otero.

so funny, thom is such trash. it's hilarious.

literally defends anything trump says or does. amazing......but he didn't vote for him, lol.

grow a spine, you scumbag piece of shit.

Yes, Thom, only 20% of local truck drivers have shown up to work. The other 80% either can't get there, or need to take care of their families.  I didn't work for two weeks after I was flooded. Maybe if Trump responded to Puerto Rico like Obama responded to Haiti there would be enough truck drivers.

Put another way, 80% of truck drivers do not show up to work, and yet again, it’s important to understand why.

“There should be zero blame on the drivers. They can’t get to work, the infrastructure is destroyed, they can’t get fuel themselves, and they can’t call us for help because there’s no communication. The will of the people of Puerto Rico is off the charts. The truck drivers have families to take care of, many of them have no food or water. They have to take care of their family’s needs before they go off to work, and once they do go, they can’t call home,” explains Col. Valle.

Defending Trump?

This is not about left vs right.

This is not about partisan politics.

This is about human decency.

Trump lacks humanity.

You should be able to see it by now.

Thom, I'm thoroughly convinced you're a lowlife, and you're the one that convinced me. And you've probably never even been to Puerto Rico, know nothing of the people, the geography or their living conditions.

We're doing a great job of getting the supplies there, but local truck drivers aren't showing up....

“It’s a lack of drivers for the transport trucks, the 18 wheelers. Supplies we have. Trucks we have. Tom

You imply laziness. Surely not.

Part of delivering aid is DELIVERING THE AID.

If they need drivers, supply drivers. Don't blame THEM for "not showing up".

I don't know, Thom, you're the one turning this into a partisan issue. Trump being a douchebag is objective.

Th epithet day you mentioned that there's a lot to legitimately criticize him for. What are some of those things?

You guys know Thom listens to the same old music y'all listen to? Don't be harsh.

Two separate things.

Grateful Dead - agape

Donald Trump - a gap

Fly in some fuggin drivers.

>>>>>>People in the northeast are very racist toward Puerto Rican's

Yeah, I heard they'll stab ya just as soon as look at you. At least that's what my neighbor says. He packs a gun when he mows his lawn, just in case.

Regardless of anyone's feelings, opinions or politics, has the U.S. provided aid in the form of water, goods, services? If not, we're not doing our best to help. That we are not helping the people of a U.S. territory is reprehensible.

Shame on Trump for  politicizing this.

If we cant take care of our own citizens, what does that say about the state? These are our fellow countrymen. What the wold must think of us.

I don't see Houston as a success story either. Ok, you dont want to help with Mexico's earthquakes, fine, but our own county?  Dump45 is a total and utter FAIL.

Thom, do politics come before humans?

(CNN) Retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré drew a stark distinction Saturday when asked about President Donald Trump's tweets accusing San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz of "poor leadership" in her response to the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

"The mayor's living on a cot, and I hope the President has a good day at golf," said Honoré, who led the military response in 2005 to Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

Honoré made his remarks during an interview on CNN Newsroom.

Thom, anything you’d like to say in response to the Lt. General?

No I didn’t think so.

Trump dedicates golf trophy to hurricane victims

On behalf of all of the people of Texas, and all of the people -- if you look today and see what is happening, how horrible it is but we have it under really great control -- Puerto Rico and the people of Florida who have really suffered over this last short period of time with the hurricanes, I want to just remember them," the president said

And we're going to dedicate this trophy to all of those people that went through so much that we love -- a part of our great state, really part of our great nation," he continued.

"I want to just remember them" by dedicating a trophy to them. Just remember them... not give more help? Arghhhh

Praising Trump is somewhat of a Faustian bargain for many local and state leaders.  If they don't, they might offend the president and run the risk (whether real or perceived) of having their jurisdiction bumped to the back of the line for the delivery of relief aid.
