It’s a Honda CRF1000L, they call it an “Adventure Bike” because it’s good for both on or off road. I plan to do a lot of camping trips with it once I have figured out how to ride that thing, lol (if it doesn’t kill me first).
We have had a few snow storms and cold crappy weather for a couple of months, but today it got to 58 and most of the snow has melted...so I took her out for a nice ride :-) It felt nice. Can’t wait for Spring!
one of my favorite websites, it's an auction site for mostly classic cars, but they have an occasional motorcycle, this one sold recently, the comment sections are a wealth of knowledge
Yeah, it really is an awesome go anywhere bike. It made history winning several Paris-Dakar races in the late 80s but Honda discontinued it after the 2003 model. In 2016 a new version came out with a larger 1,000 cc parallel-twin engine with a 270° crank. I held out for the 2018 model, they worked out a few bugs and updated the electronics. Black is also a new color for this year. It’s totally different from the beemer I had before which was a lot faster (actually too fast for me) and strictly pavement. This one has close to 10 inch suspension travel and a dirt bike geometry, it opens up a whole new world of off road riding.

Awesome! I have a TON of respect for people who take long rides on their cycles; especially through huge storms, hot heat, etc.
It's certainly something I wouldn't attempt.
Enjoy!
And be careful out there (my ex-paramedic father-in-law has shared some scary stories with us over the years).

Great idea slacker, I actually was thinking the same for both of you for a while
I have less of a problem with a cool HD short GoPro add then a stagnant water mark on a Bluelight mini.
Have fun China rider, but please be careful
