I lived in central WI. for ten years and never visited Door county. Always wanted to; never made the time. Door county used to produce one-third of the nation's cherries (mostly pie-sour type), but there's lots of cherry festivals going on at different times, still. The link above is for an island at the northern most tip of Door county. I traveled all over the state during those ten years doing prairie restoration work and the one fucking time that we had a job on Washington Island, I was on another job site. Anyway, my coworkers at the time who went said the ferry ride there is a treat and the scenery is beautiful.
