Just a heads up for Steve Kimock fans on Long Island and in the NY Metro area.
Steve Kimock will playing the Boulton Center in Bay Shore NY on 6/8/2017. Out here on the South Shore of Long Island.
If your a long-time fan of Kimock or always wanted to see him like myself, it should be a very cool show.
It's a 250 seat theater and 50 seats have already sold for VIP Members (which I am) pre-sale.
Just got third row seats.
I will try and update this thread when the VIP pre-sale is over and general public seats are available.

I made a last minute decsion
I made a last minute decsion to go see Glen Phillips (from Toad the Wet Sprocket) tonight at the Boutlon Center in Bayshrore, NY. I took my 88 year old father totally & surprised him.
Opening act was the very talented (and new to me) Amber Rubarth. Gifted guitar player and songstress who brought out Glenn Phillips for duet on "Canyon Lines"
Here is a show of hers from two weeks ago (she's touring with Glen Phillips)
http://archive.org/details/amberrubarth2017-03-11.ca14.flac24/amberrubarth2017-03-11-ca14-t-06.flac
Glen Phillips set was astounding with Amber Rubarth supporting him on bass and background vocals.
Glen sang all of pertinent hits, Walk On The Water, All I Want, and Windmills.
Great show. Very nice town with every type of restaurant & Bar.
Awesome theater. Our very own Fillmore East.

Awesome! I am third row to the left, an isle seat, wearing a Blue Jerry Garcia hat, kind of looks like NY Met hat.
There is not a bad seat in the house. Before the show, I will be in the upstairs lobby (take the sloooow elevator up).
They usually have the merchant desk with CDs and T- shirts there. Leather sofas, posters of previous shows and a very clean bathroom to freshen up.
See you there Trailhead!
Can't wait!
PS- The large public parking is behind the theater, half of block west. Bring $2.00 in Quarters, will cover the night.

There's a pretty good pizza place right next to the theater; and an Asian Fusion restaurant called 'Peninsula - Asian Fusion' next door over on the corner.
http://www.peninsulabayshore.com/
Local beers and wine in micro doses, Pretzels, Popcorn and Candy in the theater.
They will not open the doors until 7:15 and the show will not start on time to allow more time for folks to get there.
Looking forward to the show big time.

Pretty good show Steve Kimock
Pretty good show Steve Kimock and his band put on for us Long Islanders and those who visited Bayshore, NY tonight.
{I looked for you Mr Trailhead and was in the upper lobby before the show, very sorry I missed you. Hope you had a good time}
I was waiting in front of the theater and Steve drove up in an old Jeep blowing smoke and said hello. He's a gentleman. Very nice guy
Leslie & the flute player (who's great) were walking into a cafe at 7;30 so the show started late.
Wonderful version of Crazy Fingers sung by Leslie, and Steve captured every detail of the song.
Sisters & Brothers was sweet, and the show closed with "Waiting for a Miracle"
This was my first Steve Kimock show, and I look forward to a few more, for sure.

Sorry I missed you too bluelight.
Great picture. Interestingly enough, That's a picture of where I was sitting. I went with a friend who is wearing the hat in the picture. I was out of my seat at the time the photo was taken. First row was great, but I needed a little elbow room and gravitated to the alps eventually. Needed to dance for a few...
Great show. Leslie is a long island original. I remember seeing her play in a band called Mother Freedom. The flute player is also a local favorite, Ann McInerney. She plays in Jellyband.

Cool Trailhead. I may have many out of focus shots with the back of your head. You guys were the coolest in the first row for sure.
I went stag and this guy's wife was all over me as she got comfortable. I headed for the Alps too for the last song to stretch my legs.
The flute player was wonderful, thanks for her link.
Thank you Alan too!!

Trailhead & other Long
Trailhead & other Long Islanders, I just noticed Leslie Mendelson is performing at the Gray Horse Tavern in Bayport Long Island, Thursday 6/22.
It's the next town over from me and I lived there for over a decade; but the beer drinking folks in Bayport are not my cup of tea. Not so friendly and always a fight.
Andy Hess is in her band for the record

That looks like a show to catch. Is the show at the bar or upstairs? I'm on the North end of Nichols Rd. So , just a quick jaunt to the South shore. I'd love to see that show. Thanks for the heads up..

haha. No that wasn't me. I don't pay for parking there, I have bad sticks and have a Town of Islip Handicap tag. Stairs and long distance walking are a bitch for me, as I have very weak ankles.
I just spoke to the owner of the Grey Horse Tavern (she is friends with Leslie) and was at Steve Kimock show last night -
"Tickets for Leslie's show are only $10.00. They can be purchased the night of the show or at the Tavern after 4pm during the week. The show is downstairs, no more upstairs shows"
Looks like I should go for a little while. I picked up 2 Steve Kimock CDs last night and forgot to go back upstairs and get her new CD (that I just read has Bob Weir) on it.
(I forgot, I also have tickets to see Popa Chubby a very good blues guitar player from Brooklyn, at the Boulton Center 6/17. Father's Day eve)
PS- Scarlet Begonias was tight last night.

Trailhead, I took my father
Trailhead, I took my father to the Gray Horse Tavern for dinner last night, and it was excellent.
I had the Fried Chicken & my father had the mussels in a saffron sauce. I don't drink much but enjoyed a 'Coco Rita', a really strong Tequila/Rum Coconut deal that I highly recommend.
The Leslie Mendelson show starts at 8:30 Thursday 6/22. I grabbed a ticket, hope to see you there.
