Has Hunter's original Silvio lyric sheet ever been unearthed? Seems like it would be floating around somewhere but I've never seen it released/posted.
It's been debated whether Dylan did in fact change some of the lyrics from the original version. This theory is fascinating as one could normally pinpoint passages or wordplay that is uniquely Dylan, that only he may summon. Yet Hunter is one a few (only?) contemporaries who could pen this type of unique psychedelic folklore. If Dylan did make alterations, It's impossible to tell what they are.

Saw Dylan play it at the Gorge in 88 when he had GE Smith (Saturday Night Live) running the band. I love that show, full-tilt out of the gate. They started playing before they were in view. Short and punchy. Trail of the Buffalo was absolutely epic, goosebumps, surely inspired by the landscape? I'm going to dig that up for a listen again. This was the night that changed the Gorge forever. Frenetic and way over-sold. That said, Tracy Chapman stole the night imo.

That 88 tour with Kenny Aaronson on bass was fantastic, saw a couple shows and still have a program from that run. Highly underrated year
