I received 5 clones from a friend that were not labeled. Normally I would never run a mystery plant but they were from a source that makes his own hybrids, all of which are regarded as fire locally. I flipped the 5 plants 25 days ago. There is 1 that is obviously a different strain from the others as it is fairly sugary already. I know the strains this guy had were:
Strawberry OG,
Strawberry OG x Platinum
Strawberry OG x Truffaloha
Anyhow I want to keep this dumper of a strain going and I was curious if anyone had tips on this process like should I remove the flower buds ? I started about 8 clones yesterday in my King Clone Aeroponic. Used Athena Cuts for cloning gel and plan on throwing in some Mycorrhizae in 3 or 4 days. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello Sigmund. In my
Hello Sigmund. In my experience with revegging, i did not have any success with rooting clones from a flowering plant when the plant was in flower for even two weeks, but i never used an aeroponic clone system either. Once the flowers started, the clones i would take just didn't want to root and the cutting would eventually die. i use Root Riot cubes and Clonex gel in a 1020 tray w/ humidity dome. Maybe Aeroponics would work better, but oxygen, temp and pH of substrate(6.0) and feed solution (6.0) are critical for successful rooting of clones, no matter the method.
I don't remove the flower buds as these are what turn back into new veg leaves. Even if you still have fan leaves, you'll need the buds for additional leaves. The new leaves will look gnarly and twisted as they reemerge, but they'll take shape slowly. What worked for me for revegging is to place the flowering plant I'd want to reveg back under an 18/6 veg light cycle. If the plant was in flower for 25 days, expect 60 days minimum back under a veg light cycle before you will have some growing veg tips that are completely out of flower and will be ready to cut and put out roots. I have successfully revegged plants over the years by doing this when i put a strain into flower, realized late that i didn't have a mom of it, and needed more cuttings from the only mom i had. Those new veg cuttings always rooted well. It takes some time and patience to reveg, but the good genetics are always worth it. I hope whatever you do works. Good luck.
