I'm a smart ass, Tony. I was going to answer "I bet it was a camera", but not going to.
I think it was you, long ago on the Zone, who said, "It's all about the glass", something I'd never heard. I keep learning...

Hi Tony,
Thank you. Just before the pandemic, I bought a Sony RX10 IV. Given the circumstances, I did not have a good opportunity to learn how this camera responds in production and I am just now figuring it out. My brain is still hard wired to set up the photo, lock my elbows, hold steady, shoot at 1/60 with the aperture open. That's not the way this camera works. To get good photos, I have to push the ISO up and shoot at very fast exposure. ISO 3200 is low and I will often shoot at 5000 or 6000. The photos are not too grainy and I am shooting at shutter speed at 1/500 coupled with the high ISO, all manual. So far this is what seems to work best with this camera in concert lighting. It took me a while to figure that out. The Sony has tons of technology that I may never use. One feature I recently tried again was the 30 frames p/s. This is a great feature to capture sports photography. Again, I will need to perfect the technique, but I liked the results of my real first attempt. This HV Renegades vs. Brooklyn Cyclones was taken (through the netting) at ISO 10000, 1/5000 and the aperture at 4.0.
All the best, H2

....just in case anyone was
....just in case anyone was wondering, it was a called strike. Anytime I tried this in the past, if I was lucky to catch the ball in motion, it was mostly a white blurry streak. In this sports photo, you can see the ball stitching and the MLB insignia.
The clarity on some of the Bethel Woods photos is better than just about anything I had ever done previously. The Sony technology is superior to my Nikon or the Olympus point and shoot that I still use quite frequently.
