...my worlds collided!

I was on my way to see Furthur when I got a phone call from the editor of Backstreets Magazine. He told me that he had heard that Clarence Clemons was going to sit in with Furthur that night and since I knew the PR person could I see if I could get any photos of Clarence for the magazine. I chuckled and told him the I was presently driving to the venue and was a credentialed photographer for the show. I told him that photos would be sent overnight.

After meeting up with the South Florida Zoner contingent, I did my job and got the photos. As it turned out, this evening was the last public performance by Clarence Clemons. He did a TV taping with Lady Gaga soon after and in a couple of weeks, he was gone. Here are a few of the photos I took that night...

One of my all time favorite shows included The Big Man.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDPy-YFt4ms

Right on!

Met Clarence at the Sweetwater in '92. A very charming and affable fellow.

Reflecting on this show, I have to say it was a lovely location, solid sound, good setlist and hanging with Schnee, Huck and Hollis didn't suck either.

That was 10 years ago? Damn time flies.

great pics.

Great story, and very fitting and special, that you were there to document that night.

Since no one else posted the link to the show I guess I will.

Thank you for that. I can't say that I've ever listened to that show after seeing it live before. The band was on that night.
