“I have decided to stick with love.

Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
– Martin Luther King Jr.

"I an starting to think Malcolm is right about that 'any means necessary thing". @realMLKjr, January 6, 2021

I thought he was still dead.

A graphic design company I used to collaborate with would create a special card every MLK Jr Day w/ a new quote... had quite the collection... they are timeless..

"It’s alright to tell a man to lift himself by his own bootstraps, but it is a cruel jest to say to a bootless man that he ought to lift himself by his own bootstraps."

A couple of photos I took in Memphis on my road trip last month.  Those are the same automobiles that were there the day MLK was assassinated.  The Hotel is now a Civil Rights Museum.

We could use MLK here today

"A time comes when silence is betrayal".

What an incredible trend setter he was.

Hats off to his earned day.

MLK day is given off and paid to my workers for 10 years now.

A new guy who has been with me for 9 months last year on this date looked at me and said.

Hey Tim, didn't take you as a coon lover.

Took my son and another employee to hold my ass back.

Racism is alive and well in 2020 and I'm sure that fucker ain't getting today off paid by his new employer.

Love is so much more relaxing than hate.....try it

Why MLK Should Be Remembered As A Revolutionary

MLK.jpg

A year before his assassination, Martin Luther King was talking revolution. “I am convinced that if we are to get on to the right side of the world revolution,” he said, “we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values.” Speaking before a venue of religious figures at New York’s Riverside Church in April of 1967, King began to link the struggles for liberation then erupting all over the globe to a collective revolution of values. Importantly for King, a reverend and theologian, this was to be a spiritual revolution, one in which the priorities and privileges of our culture, our worldviews, and understanding of our role in the world must be transformed into a better version of ourselves, toward “a beautiful symphony of brotherhood [sic],” he said.
