Old and in thee way at homers warehouse is mentioned - another fine memory
pigs little brother kevin / MIckey / spewey ( a friend) is mentioned in the article and posts
boring post by me me, me, (narcissist), yours truly, but nostalgia is not a bad thing, or is it??
+++ my post - with a few edits lol
Art Currier was a spanish teacher at jordan jr high (near santa catalina). For paul's 16th birthday he bought Paul, his brother Gordon, sister j-Jenny and I tickets to the newish Oakland arena to see Cream and It's a beautiful day - a show I will never forget - esp the amazing Ginger Baker
I miss all my Osiris buddies - Kevin, Scott, Alan, Keith and mickey I went to many of those shows and band practices in the garage hell yes those were the days!! The best hard to handle to my recollection was in that lutheran church hall on Hamilton - just wow - Spewey ( nickname for Kevin McKernan) was on fire - eerily pigish
NYE w kingfish was awesome as was SF state ( and the sons were like the worlds best band IMO)
Keith Heineken battle on the stairway incident is true =- and the jerry parish briefcase huddle at SF state - they sure felt like they demanded privacy
Fyi the sons of champlain were the worlds best band -= and frost the world best venue IMO?
( GD excluded) I first caughtthe Dead at el camino ballpark in 67 (I seem to recall the loading zone, the sons opening for the dead -- I happened to hear miussic randomly when riding my bike downtown lol)
I also miss my unicycle riding buddy Paul who went away for awhile for trading in something many of you seem to cherish) (IA quick nod to JP too) quite the character
To be honest, Kevin did me wrong a few times, but what the hell – he was a character
I got to the hospital Kevin when was already unconscious - so I visited and said goodby silently. I remember like 2 dozen red roses from the GD office there
When I go to ALta Mesa to visit Pig’s grave, I also drop by Spewey’s grave - and often their parents Phil and Esther's graves too…
I could not have picked a better place or time to grow up - music history everyday it seems in and around palo alto late 60s, early 70s- dana morgans music store -where it began, keplers, NRPS - the origins
And we had a pretty wild ride – love to all the tribe
damn this is better than politics, and hate, and conflict, and being pissed off..... we are one, each in our own way - love to the zone, our tribe, and the ohana, and mother earth and it's inhabitants
