hit the green thingy, then wait for a pop-up that looks like this:
then:
1) click the "upload" button, then it will open two more buttons/menus: "browse" and a lower "upload", like this:
2) browse/select
3) lower "upload"
then after it is uploaded:
4) "insert file"

An observation for me : it's really hard to do on my phone including having to resize every photo I want and
then the buttons are so damn small when I try and push them often failing
And I have to be really patient to find out if my button pushing even works
Bigger buttons along with less real estate might help?
