Hitting the town in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island

Maybe I should have titled it "hitting the streets."

This is how policemen's personal property sometimes catches fire.

Perhaps. The cops definitely not looking tippy-top professional in this instance. But let's take a look from another angle

Is Black Dress reaching for the cop's holster? ...Repeatedly? 'Cause it sure seems like she is.

Wow, how did this start?  Why?  Nice punch Man In Blue.

>> how did this start?

Newport police were called to the Landing Restaurant around 1 a.m. Sunday because a person had been asked to leave and refused, according to WJAR. Security staff at the bar told police that a man had become upset after being denied entry and allegedly shoved an employee.

When security tried to step in, they said the man attempted to throw a punch at security staff. He was eventually led away by his friends.

When police arrived and attempted to speak with the man, later identified as David Onik, of Barrington, Rhode Island, his wife, Rachael Onik, also of Barrington, interjected herself into the conversation. (link)

Wow white privilege is repeatedly kicking cops in the balls and expecting not to get shot. Bill Burr does a whole bit about white women being in solidarity with brown people while they have been sitting in the hot tub next white men the whole time.

Drunk wedding party should all be arrested.  Assaulting a Police Officer is a felony. Lock them all up. Silly entitled white people.

Saw this on Reddit this morning. The cops were out-numbered and it looked like everyone in the wedding party was ready to brawl. I kinda hate to say it, but I'm on the side of the boys in blue this time.

Should have called Charlie Baileygates to settle it.

I'm not really able to conclude from either video that black dress was repeatedly reaching for the guy's gun. I understand how you could come to this conclusion and also don't disagree that she may have been doing so. The second video is pretty useless actually.

But- The charges she was arrested for, by the guy whose gun she allegedly grabbed; also does not support this theme, even though his report does

if you are lucky enough to grab for a cop's gun and survive, at least you would be arrested for grand theft or attempt, both felonies everywhere I am aware of. She wasn't.

street fighting with cops is one of the dumbest things a person can do in this country. They will kill your and they will usually get a medal for it too. Thanks for playing.

I still say these people are all pretty much deserving of each other.

Kind of amazing that that needs to be said, but apparently it does.

About 25 years ago, I was involved in an incident where law enforcement was called. They were ready to let me off with a warning, but then I had to be an asshole and ask for the main cop's badge number. Before I knew it, I was spun around, cuffed, and led to the cop car. I spent the next couple of night in lock up, and then eventually had to drop about $20k to get the thing all taken care of.

Don't challenge the man in blue in the street. Your life and liberty are at stake, and civilians almost never win.
