TXR in the News

Pretty much what we've been hearing for a while.

I suppose Jeep dealerships pay well.

Maybe Phil could just lease the Grate Room and the place could be called Terrapin Jeep?

The story didn't say that the place was closing for good, just that the lease will soon expire unless a new deal is struck.   They might just be playing chicken with the owner on a lease renewal.   TXR always seemed busy enough to make it worth the owner's while to keep them on as tenants.

May be, but not necessarily enough for the Lesh's continued effort & while.

And again, who knows how much Mr. Jeep is willing to pay for the property?

Still, Phil is playing well right now and he's going to want to continue playing while he can, so if they do shut it down it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out.

Maybe he starts popping up in various small places around the area?

Sounds fun to me.

Carry on Phil!

Great American Music Hall?  Sweetwater?  Yoshi's?  The Fillmore Auditorium?

Anywhere but the Chase Center.

Jeep Terrapin Wrangler...

doing that is much easier than running a restaurant and small venue full time.

^true dat

I hate to say it, but after TXR closes, I see Phil moving to New York.

I don't think so, Mark. A couple of years ago he purchased land on Mount Tam and built himself a pretty nice place.

Hey Peak, carry on my friend.  Good to see you last weekend, summer.  Now snow on it's way to Tahoe.

Agreed, BTW, Phil's staying put.  I cannot think of a better place than Mt Tam!!!

Phil has a natural spring on his land on Mt. Tam.

The last guy who lived there lived to be 100+ years.

Hey Peak -- 2 free tix to Jerry's Middle Finger Sweetwater tonight 9pm.  Respond below.  Have fun!!!

Thanks Andy, staying up on the river tonight.

Good luck with that Peak.

Staying "up" on the river might be quite the challenge this weekend.

It sounds like by Monday it could be an inland sea.

Stay safe!

OK Peak, enjoy....

Shit.  Worst part of reading that story is learning about John Firmin.

I was having a real good time every time I saw him play.  Especially back in the last century.

RIP.

"Now, look here, Firmin . . ."

Thinking of you guys, Peak. Hoping all is OK. Damn, what a storm.

It's crazy here in Marin it's got to be worse up north on the river.....

NOAA sez RR will crest below flood stage today/mon

good news...

Fingers crossed.

Hoping that all humans and homes are spared.
