Things that make pandemic lockdowns tolerable

Forums:

What is making these days of stay at home a bit easier to deal with?

Cannabis.

Guitars; multiple strains being handy; Internet Archive book lending; Carlito's Barbecue Taqueria; walking by the Hudson (huge recent fish die-off excepted); learning John Prine songs.

That I'm easily amused.

Unlimited pornography and music streaming.

Aside from playing guitar and bass, and turning the driveway into a garden,  I let a long time homeless friend move into the storage room for the pandemic...

Anger is such a healthier emotion for me than depression, lol.....

* Family: I'm digging on my family. I mean, I always have, but we have fun together. Board games, conversations, reading The Ickabog (being published free online by JK Rowling) together, cooking, cleaning. I love being with my son (12) and my daughter (8) so much time. Plus, I'm a teacher so being with them as part of their educational process is really cool and has allowed me to target some of my daughter's learning difficulties.

* Work: I'm a teacher and am doing all my work online. It's really fun, honestly. I love working at home. I miss seeing my students, kind of, and I know that physical socialization is probably an important part of all kids' development, but I'm loving working at home. I get to do things at my rhythm, be with my kids, eat home cooking and keep my head in check at my own will and schedule.

* Ganja: Man, I've been puffing so much herb it's kind of stupid. My indoor setup is small (80cm x 80cm x 160cm) and I'm getting my yields up with each round, but I'm only on the third round now and so far I haven't been able to cover an entire period between harvests with each harvest. That's my next goal. After that maybe even a surplus. But yeah, when/if life goes back to a normal kind of thing, I'm gonna have to smoke a lot less herb, which is probably a good thing.

* Wife: She's a trooper. We have our moments but she has been so supportive and just like the rock of the family. She makes sure the kids are always well and doing healthy productive things. I contribute a lot, don't get me wrong, but she's just a force of nature.

2 secret private docks my customer/neighbors are up north.

One is a snapper hole, the other has unlimited snook

Both are within 2 blocks from my place too

Off topic.

When I wear a mask going out I don't have to rush home when I forget to put in my upper dentures.

no kids in the home, for close to 30 years we always had one creeping around here, not for the past six months

working from the home has been sweet too, I save about 2.5 hours of driving, get a ton more done with time to mix in yard work, guitar playing

the working from home thing also lets me go weekday shopping when stores open in the morning, before any high volume of people.

Not having to hide from Nazi soldiers makes the lockdown beyond an easy dream.

I am not a gregarious person

1. Getting out of your house

2. Turn off news and social media

My garden, cooking and cleaning, walking and amusing my dog,  and a shit-ton of homeowner projects. Never lack something to do

Plus, baseball is coming back!  Giants games on TV,  season long fantasy league, Daily fantasy betting.

I still miss live music and hanging with all my buds. But never lack something to do.

I have not been on a bus since 3/13.  That's a major lifestyle improvement.

Dodging such a potential infection vector is pretty sweet, too.
