RIP Yes Drummer Alan White

Oh, damn.

I loved/love Yes, so I loved White, despite how his playing declined as he got older.

I saw him many, many times over many years, and was always happy because it meant I was seeing some form of Yes with Chris Squire. The only Yes group he played in that I didn't see was the one with Steve Howe after Chris Squire died.

They were one hell of a band when they were all together.

Another sad passing.

On it goes.

He owned a castle on in island in the Puget Sound.  Kind of the ultimate check out spot for a Prog Rock musician.

Cousin It's dead too.

He was in the Plastic Ono band with some dude John Lennon. Played on "Imagine"

Pretty cool, RIP.

Great drummer and a friendly guy. There was a period that I used to meet him in a train station cafe in Bradley Beach, NJ and I was probably the only person who knew who he was. Around Christmas time he gave me a CD that he did, which I don't see listed anywhere, of traditional holiday music that has him playing bagpipes as well as many other instruments. I guess I need to go dig into one of the archived boxes of CDs, find it and take a photo of it.

RIP

Many times shredded my grey matter.

Guy was a mind blowing face melting technical wizard mutherfucker.

RIP Alan + Thank Yeeeeeew

Never saw YES but always loved their music. Was top notch!

RIP!!

I still remember my jaw hitting the ground from Alan White's drumming when Yes played Sound Chaser on their Relayer tour stop at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. If you want, you can listen here at the 11:50 mark.
