For any Zoners who might make
For any Zoners who might make a decision on Big Sur shows in the next couple of days, please know that both Zooey and I have extra tickets listed in the ticket folder.
The cabin mentioned above is still available, as well as tent sites. I also know of someone who wants to release their adventure tent (tent cabin for 2 w/ real bed, electricity and heat).
Good news is that the chance of rain in Big Sur will be less than 20% for the next week! Lows in the high 40s, highs in the low 60s-- perfect!

very good, well played shows. hope they were recorded. some real moments.
big sur magic land. band needed to play somewhere weird to bring the funk.
i love the central coast so very much. stunning drives in each direction. 20'+ surf to admire, spectacular.
tiny place. sat was packed.
gnarly energy with space crush. 2nd set meltdown, local drunk chick drags her 6.5 boyfriend in the middle of the crowd who immediately get into it with yuppie couple. complete shit show.all unfolds in front of me. eventually nelson mama got in to trash chicks face and told her stfu and really did shut them down. just amazing.
anyways, thanks to dflo for the hospitality and space sharing.
they played like a band that is worth flying to hawaii for....

BTW- Turtle: the drama with the big guy and psycho chick... not locals. Glad they got the boot.
FYI the Hipnick weekend in May is usually a pretty fun Deal here at Fernwood. They set up a stage down in the campground so there is more room outside under the moon and redwoods. Mother Hips has continually brought their freak game.
Might want to check it out if you're so inclined.

What a weekend! Just wish it
What a weekend! Just wish it lasted longer, as I realized I didn't do a good job of connecting w/ other Zoners.
Had fun around our campfire.
Night 1 show was my fav.
OMG just realiized this: I think I sold an extra ticket to a friend of the couple who got kicked out -- as it was the couple who handed over the cash. I didn't see it happen, but my guy did and described it as a hair-pulling catfight. However, he often exaggerates when telling stories -- so maybe Turtle can verify that detail.
Because the venue space was pretty tight I spent a bit of time on the side patio to watch through the window -- and met Martha! I pitched the following idea and she said "iidea will be considered"! Idea: Move this event to Thanksgiving weekend and add a 3rd night. Include a rustc Thanksgiving potluck for those who want to arrive early.
I've always loved Big Sur but had never experienced Fernwood -- and I didn't want to leave after only 2 nights!

DNB was originally on the bill for the CRB Freaks for the Festival in April of 2017, but sadly DNB was unable to perform.
A warmer weather festival would be great for DNB. There is an outdoor stage in the camping area, and the river is nice in warm weather. That CRB festival was really great. ((( Neal

i found the irony rich and quite delectable as the couple they had the spat with, basically exhibited similar space invading entitled marin txr giant fan behavior. (last part partially tongue-in-cheek...).
then they were able to pat each other on the back because the "bad people" left....lols.
