2019 PGA Tour

Forums:

Big changes in the schedule. Big changes in the rules.

Windy Kapalua this week. No Tiger.

DJ looking as hungry as ever.

Hit 'em flush.

Golf sucks

its like fucking field hockey with holes

like I’d ever click that

Hurling is sort of like field hockey,  but it doesn't suck

betterthangolf.jpg

yes Irish hurling does not suck

phil wouldn’t be able to run after his ball for a do over

>>Golf sucks

Thank you for outing yourself.

Heading out in a few to play a round of this suck as game, but maybe I might start incorporating a bit a field hockey into my game. Maybe a putter slash to someone that takes a skin away from me?

Happy New Year Zoners!

Just a lil windy there!

One of the great pearls of wisdom I've ever been told in regards to the game...one time we were discussing "pre-shot regimen"...my buddy was like "whatever they do on PGA Tour, do that."  It kind of brought me around to the "best practices" philosophy which is applicable to practically anything.

Pin in?

or pin out?

i am mixing in the pin but not full time, straight, short shots to start

Check to see if the flag is straight.

Kuchar won Honolulu last week.

Phil shot a 60 at La Quinta today.

Great sleeping material!

I listen to Radiohead and I golf - but even I draw the line at posting cat pics.

F2F53118-866B-41CF-8DEC-A7A991FE9176.jpegCat pics you say????

Phil could not get it done.

Don't buy a house on a golf course.  Bad investment and popularity is waning

At least  THE POTUS prefers golf to working (thinking?)

Garfield thinks she's in Miami ^

Tiger is in the field at Torrey Pines this week.

Lows today are -10 on the North Course and -6 on the South.

Tiger looked okay at times and at times rather not okay.
He's not young anymore. If he breaks through any particular week - he will need to be consistently good over 4 days to have a chance. Phil as well (even though he skipped this week). They are old. Period.

And, he starts today 8 back...

Flag stick in is gaining momentum.

Flag stick in has % numbers in its favor. Pelz gives it a thumbs up too.

Slacker - do you agree that golf courses are certainly not helping the cause of affordable housing because they take up so much space that could be used to build affordable housing?

No. There is plenty of space for both. And they provide jobs.

That is true that they do provide jobs - but they are land hogs.

Parks with courts and ball fields are worse.

I bet you might get an argument from some about that.

Since I golf myself - I am not out to destroy courses - I just see their relationship relative to land use in general.

LOL @ Haotong Li

couldnt have happened to a nicer guy bwahahahaha

>Parks with courts and ball fields are worse<

Yep, providing kids with recreational opportunities is an awful use of land.

Golf courses are much better...greens fees keep out the riffraff

Are there free sports for kids?

^pick up basketball in the park, frisbee, soccer,  whiffle ball,  football...played them all for free. One does not have to join a league in order to play sports, but a park helps

I hate teams.

Junior rates for some courses are as low as ten bucks.

^$10 per kid.

$0 is less than $10.  Plus golf clubs, balls, shoes, etc are expensive.  A basketball or a soccer ball can be had for $10, a frisbee about the same. Plus, a park can be used by the residents of the neighborhood for picnics, gatherings, walking,  running,  and it's all free.

A park is for the people,  a golf course is for paying customers

You pay to get away from the assholes at the park.

How often do you do play those games with your family?

My son and his friends use the parks on a regular basis . *free of charge

My daughter likes to explore the park along the bay. *free of charge

>You pay to get away from the assholes at the park<

Like i wrote,  the greens fees keep out the riffraff.

Don't want to mingle with the unwashed masses?

I like golf. If I went to a regular park I would want to bring a wedge and some golf balls or whiffle balls.

I also like tennis.

I don't like the big three anymore.

My son doesn't have friends. The kids at school have shunned him for being slower than them and not having a backyard for play dates and sleepovers.

I hate basketball culture.

>I like golf...I also like tennis...I hate basketball culture...

I don't like the big three anymore.<

It's not about you or me, a park is a better use of land because it provides a greater benefit for the community.

And i am short, slow and have no vertical leap, yet i played pickup basketball for years. ( i had a good outside shot and could hit the open man) I don't remember a particular basketball culture,  each court was different.

Maybe someone will build a medium density golf community that is affordable

My in laws could have bought a place on the golf course down the street but they don't play.

And they don't like the weather up here.

Cam Champ didn't reach the green on 16.

This is getting good.

Ricky folding like a lawn chair.

He made it dramatic for a few holes.

Squeegee birdie by Cam Champ.

The Great One can't putt.

Everybody Loves Raymond charging in the hail.

Phil wins today, this seems like it will be a special day on the links, super excited about it!  Watching golf in next generation high definition is one of my great pleasures in life.  I don't think HDTV has impacted the viewing experience of any other sport quite as much.  It's my understanding Pebble Beach is open to the public...expensive, but accessible.

I switched to the golf channel for a moment to watch Bernard Langer win the Oasis with a 65...he just recited Philippians 4:6-7 during the victory interview.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 - And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Also known as early Phil and Friends ^

Wow, this sucks. Apparently Matt Kuchar is a cheap douchebag.

https://www.golf.com/news/2019/02/12/they-can-keep-their-money-kuchars-f...

I think he's making it up to the guy.

Nice round by JB Holmes.

Tiger had a good start to end the day.

Funny watching all the guys hit bad shots at the end when they lost their depth perception. Everybody's hands were coming off the follow through.

start to end?

The third round started late. Play resumes at 6:45.

Kooch finally came to his senses...apologized and is giving the guy 50,000 (he asked for 45 after turning down Kuchar 's agents offer of an additional 15 grand last week)

Of course, remember, this all happenned in November and Kooch didnt do anything til it blew up on social media, and the Chants of "koooooooch" were really starting to sound more like "youre an asshole, pay the fuckin guy" at last two tourneys...

“kooooooooch” can sound like “dooooooooooousche” too

I’m glad his sponsors leaned on him enough to cough up the cash.

Jordan Spieth is having issues.

He should pray more.

Good looking weekend in Mexico.

DJ s 5 stroke lead blows up on one hole (and a birdie from Rory)

is DJ still partying and tagging Paulina Gretzky? what a life

Justin Thomas playing out of his mind!!!!!

20 wins for DJ gives him a lifetime exemption.

I really want to see Vijay play well tomorrow and win.

We may witness history today...excited for Vijay, one of the great guys on tour

Pretty good 70 holes for the old guy.

Players happening now.

Beautiful

Jordan is questioning his faith.

Phil hired college scammer Singer.

Rahmbo made a nice move past Fleetwood Mac.

New trophy.

can’t you just text these posts to bryen instead

Paul Casey is in good form at the right time.

He should have a really good week at Augusta if he doesn't injure himself before the tournament.

Tiger vs Rory tomorrow.

Nice team win for Rahm and Ryan Palmer.
