I agree that Tulsa should not have been banned for life. Some of those threads were hysterical. Admin made it clear pretty early on that viva was gonna be more like an old senior citizen day care than the Philzone.
Strange what warrants lifetime bans vs multiple time-outs. He should have spent time calling names, attacking and putting others down, rather than being self-deprecating.
It's really interesting to see what some perceptions of the classic Philzone are. It gets glorified as the Wild, Wild West, where there were glorious gunfights and bar brawls, and anything went. It was never that. More than anything, it was a place where people generally strive for civility. Disagreements and personality conflicts didn't end up in long-term trolling and constant attacks. People shared the good, the bad and the ugly, others commented, and then they moved on. Shit, I've had at least 20-30 Zoners over to my house, many who I was never "close" with. It was safe. Those days are long gone.
This is the Zone that you romanticize about. Yeah, you might get a warning or time out, but you can have all the bar brawls you want.

Low level Homer Simpson style shit. Nonsense that was probably more out of stupidity, drunkenness and not giving a shit than any serious antisocial malice. He was ok in small quantities.
