He doesn't have his wall (yet,), but this loutish man child of a president and his outlandishly dysfunctional reality TV administration are starting to rack up some big, if not historic, accomplishments and actually making good on many of his campaign promises - massive tax cuts for the wealthy, sweeping regulatory roll backs, and now a solid conservative majority on the Supreme Court for the next generation. He has also somehow managed to not be impeached despite all the terrible things he has said and done. Donald Trump is winning.

I see your point Ken and very much respect your opinions, but "winning" is such a temporary term.
Charlie Sheen was winning. He thought.
President Barack Obama, upon the passage of the Affordable Care Act, was winning. Later, the ACA was decimated by republicans.
Orange Mussolini has had his victories, but the "game" is never "over". AND,
if you consider seeing many of your cohorts pleading guilty and turning on you as winning...
or if you consider investigations into possible criminal fraud on your past tax returns winning...
or if you consider having your wife find out as a fact you were humping babes and paying them off to be quiet as winning...
or if you can't be sure of your future and that it may include incarceration for you and friends and family as winning...
you can have it.
Kavanaugh could be impeached (doubtful), and the tax cuts and giveaways to the rich can be rolled back in the next administration.
We will survive.
As a lawyer neighbor said when I lamented the court situation, he said laws passed by a congress don't come before a court unless they're questioned constitutionally.
He was suggesting progressive change can still take place. But yeah, this court thing is a real kick in the balls. I hope it rallies the troops for November.

In many ways, the US
In many ways, the US constitution has been a millstone around this countries neck. While its composition was fairly radical for its day, it has remained unfortunately static and unyielding to the demands of changing times. I would argue it has stifled reasonable political evolution. This is especially true when relating to the process of amending it. We should not have to live this way. We should not have to accept that money equals speech, the unfettered legal corruption of our lawmakers, tyranny of the minority in relation to our elections, establishment of second class citizens, defacto state sponsored religious terrorism, etc. The constitution is why we are in the place we find today, where a demonstrable moron can occupy the highest office and nominate political ideologues that wallow in demagoguery to the supreme court in order to circumvent the legislative process. I am almost to the point of calling for the dissolution of the government and rewriting our constitution to more appropriately meet the demands of a modern government and its people. What a god damn mess.

Saying they're helping is different than actually doing something to help (unless you think big pharma needs booker to help them by accepting their money).
"As MapLight data shows, Booker has received more pharmaceutical manufacturing cash over the past six years than any other Democratic senator: $267,338. In addition, significant numbers of pharmaceutical and biotech firms reside in Booker’s home state of New Jersey. Other Democrats receiving six-figure donations from the industry, like Casey, Patty Murray, and Michael Bennet, opposed the amendment."

The Kavanaugh confirmation is a massive failure for the Dems, and not just for the obvious loss of the Court.
From my perspective, the entire situation with Dr. Ford was profoundly mishandled. Drawing a line in the sand (intentionally or not) and asking Americans to choose between fundamental principles of justice and an emergent social movement was a grave mistake.
Now, the memes of hysterical protesters literally clawing at the doors of the Supreme Court have gone viral, and Republicans are riding the narrative that Liberals are unhinged lunatics. Based on what GOP senators were saying in Fall 2016, I thought that it would remain 4-4 if HRC were to be elected. (then 4-3 if Kennedy had decided to retire???).
I salute the Democratic Senators in the Judiciary Committee for showing some backbone. Much more information was revealed than if they had decided to roll-over and allow the GOP powers-that-be to follow their initial plan. We are much closer to the truth than we would've been. This forced leaders (esp GOP leaders) to take a more intentional stand on the issue, given the amount of evidence piling up (and potential evidence which was purposely avoided). There will be more revealed as the months/years proceed. And, IMO, the truth is something that people who have nothing to hide should embrace.

David Gergen on full
David Gergen on full-tilt right now, if that's any metric...partisanship to the side, I'd like to respectfully throw a few observations on the table for the good of the discussion, I'd like to achieve civility, there won't be any lack of it on my end. I feel like one of the things I bring to the table is an excellent gauge on the landscape as political junkie and having worked on a couple campaigns in the context of voter registration/voter mobilization, I could be wrong, but I'm often correct.
I'm calling the GOP retaining the house and the senate in November, if I'm wrong I'll be the first to concede, but I think I'm correct.
I think there's been a genuine shift in the last few weeks, it is what it is, but there's a true sense of injustice the likes of which I've never observed in the political ether, it began with the Russia investigation, but some of the tactics employed during the Kavanaugh confirmation were unprecedentedly ugly...really, really bad, we all know it, it's the elephant in the room.
You won't likely read that prediction anywhere else, and that's not meant to engage in some uncivil back and forth, I'm just telling you guys, I have an excellent feel for these things, and everything I sense is we are experiencing a watershed moment in American politics.

>>>If the lame-ass Dems could
>>>If the lame-ass Dems could tap into that 60% that doesn’t vote in midterms, they’d kick ass
I'm not so sure about that. I've seen the data that shows higher registered voter turnout tends to favor Democrats; but that huge block of unregistered, potential voters you're referencing is a pretty big unknown.
I'd actually bet a sizable percentage of them are anti-gubment, pro-gun, anti-abortion, religious, and still using flip phones. Not sure we necessarily want to invite them to the party.

Emoluments Clause lawsuit tossed out:

But there are some additional Emoluments Clause lawsuits supposedly in the works by rival hotel operators, which could help get around the standing issue. Perhaps they can use this decision as a road map on how to do it right the next time around.

A federal investigation into
A federal investigation into whether Trump Organization executives violated campaign-finance laws appears to be wrapping up without charges being filed, according to people familiar with the matter.
For months, federal prosecutors in New York have examined whether company officials broke the law, including in their effort to reimburse Michael Cohen for hush-money payments he made to women alleging affairs with his former boss, President Donald Trump.
In recent weeks, however, their investigation has quieted, the people familiar with the inquiry said, and prosecutors now don't appear poised to charge any Trump Organization executives in the probe that stemmed from the case against Cohen.
